Fatty Acid Oxidation
We need energy for everything we do. There are many processes our body system goes through to provide us with enough energy to get us by the day. One of the body catabolism that gives us sufficient energy is fatty acid oxidation.
Fatty acids are substantial as it provides us with a considerably large amount of energy. The most common kind of fats found in our food is made of triglyceride which is basically an ester made up of glycerol and three fatty acids. When triglyceride is catabolized, it forms fatty acid and glycerol which can be further broken down to form smaller mobile substances that produce energy. Thus, the oxidation of fatty acids is of utmost importance to our body.
